Significant improvements across the entire application — smarter ledgers, professional barcodes, and better receipts.
Accurate Balance Tracking
Customer and vendor ledgers now correctly handle advances and overpayments. When a customer or vendor pays more than owed, the surplus is tracked as a credit and clearly labelled — no more incorrect calculations at negative balances.
Real Scannable Barcodes
The barcode generator has been completely rebuilt using the Code128B industry standard. Labels are now scannable by any barcode reader — plus a live label preview, category search, configurable sizes, and a "Print All" button.
Complete Payment Receipts
Payment receipts now show the full picture: previous balance, amount received or paid, and remaining balance — with an "(Adv)" indicator when the party is in credit. Far more useful for both you and your customers.
Walk-in Customer Naming
On the sales terminal, you can now name walk-in customers directly on the invoice — no need to create a ledger entry. The name prints on the receipt and appears in the bills history for reference.
Custom Company Logo
Upload your business logo directly in Settings. It appears on the login screen, home screen, and printed receipts — giving every document a professional, branded look tailored to your shop.
Accurate Bill Editing
Editing a bill and changing the customer (e.g. from a ledger account to walk-in) now correctly updates both the old and new customer ledgers in real time. No stale entries after edits.
Fully Offline Windows Application
The POS Desktop App is built with Electron and runs as a native Windows application. It installs via a standard .exe and operates without any internet connection — ever. All your data lives in a single JSON file on your PC, which means you can back up by copying one file.
The application comes with 12 fully integrated modules: from the sales terminal and purchase management to barcode label printing, thermal receipts, and a multi-user access system. It is designed specifically for Pakistani retail — with local payment methods (JazzCash, EasyPaisa) and offline-first reliability built in from day one.

Sales Terminal
Split-panel layout — left side handles invoice entry with customer selection, pay type, and a live items list with inline discount editing. Right side is a product grid with category filters and search. Click any product to instantly add it to the sale. Walk-in customers can be named directly on the invoice for easy reference.
Purchase Management
Record stock purchases from vendors. Select products from a dropdown, assign a vendor, set purchase price and quantity — stock levels update automatically. Full purchase history with date, vendor, items, and total. Supports partial payment on purchases.
Sale & Purchase Returns
Full return module for both sides. When returning a sale, stock is automatically added back to inventory and the customer ledger is adjusted. When returning a purchase to a vendor, the vendor ledger and stock are updated simultaneously.
Customer Ledger
Track each customer's outstanding balance and complete transaction history — every sale, payment, and return. Advanced balance logic correctly handles customer advances and overpayments: credit balances display in green as "Advance" while outstanding amounts show in red. Filter by date range, search by name, and print individual statements.
Vendor Ledger
Mirror of the customer ledger but for your suppliers. Accurately tracks payables and handles vendor advances — if you pay a vendor more than owed, the surplus is shown as "Vendor Advance (Credit)" in green. View all purchases and payments, and print account summaries.
Inventory & Products
Full product CRUD — add products with retail price, wholesale price, purchase cost, barcode, category, and minimum stock alert level. Filter by category, search by name or barcode, and view low-stock warnings at a glance.
Barcode Generator
Professional barcode label printing built directly into the app. Generates real Code128B barcodes scannable by any standard reader — no ASCII art placeholders. Search and filter products by category, preview the label before printing, configure label size, and toggle which details to print (company name, product name, price). Print all products at once with one click.
Thermal Receipt Printing
80mm thermal receipt generated automatically after every sale. Includes shop name, cashier, date/time, itemised list, subtotal, discount, tax, and total. Payment receipts also show previous balance, amount received, and remaining balance. One-click print via any USB or network thermal printer.
Reports & Dashboard
Daily, weekly, and monthly sales summaries with profit margin breakdown. View total sales, total purchase cost, gross profit, and top-selling products. The dashboard shows today's numbers at a glance — no navigation needed.
Bank Module
Record bank deposits, withdrawals, and transfers. Track your business bank balance separately from cash-in-hand. Helps reconcile end-of-day cash with your actual bank account.
Multi-User Access
Admin and Cashier roles enforced at the application level. The Admin can access all modules including reports, product management, and settings. Cashiers are restricted to the sales terminal and returns only.
100% Offline
The entire application runs without any internet connection. All data is stored in a single JSON file on your PC. No subscription, no cloud sync, no dependency on any external server — ever. Works even in areas with zero connectivity.

All data is stored in your browser's localStorage, which means it persists between sessions on the same device without needing a server or database. The interface is the same clean, split-panel design — a product grid on one side, the active invoice on the other.

What is the difference between the Desktop App and the Online Website?
The POS Desktop App is a Windows .exe application — runs fully offline, stores all data on your PC, no internet required. SmartPOS Online is a web application — you open it in a browser (no install), but it requires internet to access.
Does the Desktop App require internet?
Never. All data is stored in a local JSON file. The app works in areas with no connectivity at all — load shedding, no SIM, no WiFi. Zero internet dependency.
Does SmartPOS Online have a .exe file?
No. SmartPOS is a browser-based website. There is nothing to download or install. You open the URL and start selling. The .exe is exclusively for the Desktop App.
How do I get the Desktop App after paying?
After payment is confirmed on the blockchain, our team will send the .exe installer to your WhatsApp and email — typically within a few hours. You can also click the WhatsApp button on the confirmation page to request it instantly.
Can I install the Desktop App on multiple computers?
The $129 (limited time) license covers up to 2 PCs. For multi-branch installations, contact us for a multi-seat license.
How do I back up data in the Desktop App?
All data is in one JSON file on your PC. Copy it to a USB drive or Google Drive folder for backup. Restoring means copying it back — no database tools needed.
What payment methods does the POS record?
Cash, Credit, Partial, JazzCash, EasyPaisa, and Card. Both products record these for your books — they do not process digital payments directly.
